Transitional Kitchen & Hearth Room Renovation

The Kitchen and Hearth Room renovation for a family of 5 was intended to be simple and budget friendly to fit the family’s home, neighborhood and lifestyle.  We opened up the Kitchen to the hearth areas as much as possible to make the Hearth room more usable and added a drop zone area as well as a small seating area and bench near the back door for shoes, etc. The Kitchen was gutted and budget friendly cabinets, countertops & tile were added to pull the spaces together. We used matte black fixtures to keep the space feeling timeless and more connected to the style of the existing home. Overall, the layout achieves our key goals by allowing seating at the island for casual on the go meals or for homework for the kids near Mom or Dad and an updated light & bright space that didn’t break their budget or look out of place in their home.
