70’s Modern Primary Bath Update
This 70’s Modern Primary Bath Renovation involved retiring what were some ‘top of the line’ features when originally built out, such as a wall mounted hair dryer, separate wall phone by the toilet and Nutone intercom system. We kept some other features, but used updated and space saving technology such as a new bidet seat and full steam shower system. We wanted to give the dated spaces a breath of fresh air, but still celebrate the great natural light from the large skylight and clerestory windows that existed in the space. We were able to remove a wall between a very large step-up jetted tub and add a sleek freestanding tub with new full length niche and a great tile accent while making the new shower larger and more open. The dark floor tile grounds the space and provides a nice contrast to the rift cut white oak frameless cabinetry to maintain and enhance the modern vibe of the home, while keeping some warmth in the space. The custom vanity and storage cabinet with and added built-in bench better utilize the space without taking away from the open and airy quality of the space.
